We’ve got some exciting news. Mission Refill, your favorite spot for all things clean and eco-friendly, is teaming up with the newly founded Goodland Plants. This collaboration brings a special selection of indoor plants to our store, all propagated by Goodland Plants and potted in second-hand containers. It’s a perfect match for our commitment to sustainability and eco-friendly living.
At Mission Refill, we’re all about making eco-friendly living easy and accessible. We’re known for curating sustainably packaged goods and offering a wide range of products available in bulk refills. Now, by adding plants to our offerings, we’re giving you a green and beautiful way to bring the benefits of nature indoors.
Goodland Plants is a local gem, founded by the dynamic duo, Tammy and Chris Shorb, from Goleta. Tammy Shorb, a UC Master Gardener, brings her passion and expertise to the table. She has loved plants since she was a kid and gardened with her grandfather. He was a Midwest farmer who got transplanted to Los Angeles.
The plants available at Mission Refill are propagated from cuttings, which means they not only create new plants but also help the original plants grow healthier and fuller. Indoor plants are fantastic – they soften light, add life to your space, and might even help clean the air. Each plant’s unique colors and shapes add a dynamic aesthetic to any room.
Goodland Plants is also doing its part to reduce waste by using only second-hand pots. Tammy and Chris collect used pots from friends, sidewalks, garage sales, and thrift stores, ensuring that no new pots are purchased and that beautiful, unique containers are given a new life.
Some of the plants you’ll find in our store include green Swedish ivy, lilac spiderwort, and variegated spider plant, with prices ranging from $10 to $20.
To celebrate this exciting partnership, we’re hosting a Plant Party on Friday, August 9th, from 5:30-7:00 pm. Tammy and Chris Shorb will be there, and we’re inviting the whole community to join us. Come shop an expanded selection of plants, mingle with the founders of Goodland Plants, and learn about the benefits of different types of indoor plants. Plus, get tips on how to care for your new leafy friends. We’ll have complimentary light bites, wine, and non-alcoholic beverage options. Don’t forget to register for the event at missionrefill.com.
We can’t wait to see you there and share the joy of indoor plants!
